![]() ![]() Drained all that, and put new fluid in it, tuned the engine up and got it running. The hyd's were full of water from setting out. I had to pull the mast ram and replace the packing on the bottom. I was given an old 3000# Clark forklift with a 4-cyl contintental. Hopper cooled pump outfit I was moving around "IN MY BACK YARD" with the forklift. I bled the master cylinder on the bench before installing it, and then bled the line down to the distribution block to get the air out. NAPA didn't have a listing for it even when I gave them the part # so I went to my friendly independent auto supplier and got one from DORMAN. It was fun finding one, but eventually I did. I had to replace the seized up master cylinder. I forgot to say that I fixed the brakes a few weeks ago so I can stop it. Now I can use it without fear of the rear tire going "BANG" at the wrong time. That was another fun job getting the wheel lined up, lowering the forklift safely (blocks under the forklift) on the wheel axel, getting it back in place and bolting it in. Once home, I proceeded to put the wheel back in. The man doing the job said the tire/flap and tube were "PETRIFIED" (they were hard as a soft rock ). It was worth the extra $'s to get it done instead of saving a few $'s buying a tire on line and having to do it my self. Sure glad I let them do it because it took them about a 1/2 hour of hard work with their tire tools to get the old one off the split rims and the new on back on. It looked like the original tire with about a 6" dry rot section in one place. What a job getting it up high enough, safely (blocks under the forklift) to get the wheel out, and was it heavy or what. I went home and removed the rear tire on the 3 wheeled fork lift. I ordered a 6.90圆.00-9 from the local tire shop and they said they would put it on the wheel for me, and to come back around 2:00pm. Replace the rear steering tire because it was about ready to blow. ![]()
